Цели: систематизация знаний по теме «Модальные глаголы»; совершенствование навыков чтения; развитие лексико-грамматических навыков.

Оборудование: карточки с транскрипционными значками.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good morning, boys and girls! (Good morning, Maria Petrovna!)

— I am glad to see you. (We are glad to see you too.)

— How are you? (We are fine, thanks.)

— Do you often write letters?

— Do you like to get letters?

— Who usually write letters to you?

— Do you have a penfriend?

— Do you want to have a foreign penfriend?

Today you will read a letter from the teacher who lives in England.


II. Фонетическая зарядка

— Look at the blackboard, please. Can you read the words? Misha will start today.

— Let’s read the words all together.

(Учитель обращает внимание детей на слова, заранее записанные на доске. Учащиеся читают их хором и индивидуально.)

— Name the words with the sound [1]. (Apple, ball, early, learn, pencil.)


III. Речевая разминка

— Let’s remember the game “Interview”. Who wants to answer the questions? Masha, will you go to the blackboard? Children, ask your questions, please. Try to use different tenses.

— How old are you? (l am ten.)

— Will you go to school tomorrow? (Yes, I shall. I shall go to school tomorrow.)

— Did you visit Britain last month? (No, I didn’t. I didn’t visit Britain last month.)

— Do you like Maths? (Yes, I do. Hike Maths.)

— Do you study well? (Yes, I do. I study well.) Etc.

— I want you to read the task. Tanya, read it, please.

You will listen to the tape and answer the question.

(Ученики прослушивают запись два раза, после чего представляют свои варианты ответа на вопрос.)

Упр. 34 (с. 16).

(Чтение диалога в парах.)

Упр. 35 (с. 16).

— I’d like you to do exercise 35 on page 16. Sasha will read the task.

— Can you make up the word combinations and translate them? (Ученики составляют и переводят словосочетания.)

Упр. 36 (с. 16).

— Let’s compare the pairs of words in exercise 36 on page 16 in your textbooks.

(Учитель обращает внимание учащихся на слова, приведенные в таблице. Ученики зачитывают пары слов вслух и сравнивают их.)

— Let’s read Barbara’s letter. Who wants to be the first? Sergei will start and Misha will continue our reading.

— Will you answer my questions, please?

(Ученики читают текст вслух по цепочке, а затем отвечают на вопросы учителя.)

— Where is Barbara from? (She is from London, England.)

— Why does Barbara miss her pupils very much? (It was a pleasure to have such pupils. They were bright and happy.)

— How many boys and girls does she have in her class? (She has 19 boys and girls.)

— Are British children similar to Russian boys and girls? (They are very similar to Russian children: happy, bright and a bit lazy.)

— Did Barbara show her pupils the photos of her Russian friends? (Yes, she did. Barbara showed her pupils the photos of her Russian friends.)

Упр. 39 (с. 18).

— Now it’s time to remember some modal verbs and answer the questions. We shall work in a chain now. If you give the right answer to the question, you may ask your own question to your classmates.

— Who is ready to start?

(Учитель предлагает учащимся прочитать грамматическое правило по теме «Модальные глаголы» в рамке и составить с данными глаголами вопросы своим одноклассникам. Ученик, правильно ответивший на вопрос, получает право задать следующий вопрос.)

Примерные вопросы:

— May I take your textbook?

— Can you help me?

— Could you close the door?

— May I switch off the tape recorder?

— Can you open the window?

— Can I use your rubber?

— Could I read your book? Etc.
